Devin Charlton sets a world record in the 60m hurdles in Torun


The Bahamian clocks 7.65 at the World Indoor Championships to match her own world record set in Glasgow 2024.

Devin Charlton equaled her own world record by winning her third consecutive world indoor title in the women’s 60m hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in Torun on Sunday (March 22).

With 7.65, he is on pace to win his first gold in Glasgow 2024, becoming the first triple winner of the title.

Behind, Nadine Visser of the Netherlands took silver in 7.73, while Pia Skrzyszowska delighted her home crowd by matching the Polish record and bronze.

Charlton said: “I didn’t have the best start, I slipped a bit, but I tried to fix it as fast as I could. This is one of the things we train for. I knew I had beaten the world record, I knew I had it when I crossed the finish line.

“I know I could have run a bit faster as well, but not having the best start, I’ll take it. I’ve improved a lot since Glasgow and today I’m really proud to have won my third world title in a row.
