Marc Marquez won the sprint race at the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix this Saturday, beating Fabio Di Gianntonio after a sinkhole on the track caused major delays in Goiania.

Factory Ducati star Marquez and front-row starter Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of Aprilia’s D’Giantantonio in the early stages of the sprint at the Brazilian GP. But Marquez spilled the beans and grabbed the lead with three laps to go as Di Giannantonio drifted wide.

Yamaha rider Fabio Quattararo used his qualifying effort to climb from P4 to P2 on the fearsome V4 YZR-M1 as Di Giannantonio attempted to pull away from the field early in the sprint. Quatararo quickly passed Bezecic and Marquez on lap 1.
The Yamaha M1’s faults saw Quatararo only hold on to P2, while Márquez aboard the Ducati GP26 built up in the Goiania Sprint before taking up position on lap 3. Aprilia Ace Bezcicci followed Márquez despite Quatarro doing his best.
Aprilia’s Jorge Martin also made a move on Quattroro on lap 4 of 15, the Yamaha rider not in the same race as his rivals. Third place came from Martin on lap 7, when his Aprilia team-mate Bezeci made a mistake and tried to catch too much speed at turn 9.
Fermin Aldeguer had a horrible start that could see chaos descend on the sprint at the Brazilian GP as the Gresini rider shot sideways on the grid and fell down the order. Honda’s Joan Mir crashed on lap 3 as Aldegar continued.
