IPL 2026: Dwayne Bravo, Matthew Hayden and others to attend CSK meet in Chepauk



In what promises to be a nostalgic and electrifying curtain raiser to the new IPL season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) It is gearing up for a grand reunion event called Roar ’26 on March 22 at the famous MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Known for its deep connection with fans and legacy built on consistency, CSK is taking things up a notch this year by bringing together legends and current stars under one roof.

The event is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST and is billed as more than just a fan meet. It is a celebration of CSK’s journey, a tribute to its loyal Yellow Army and a rare opportunity to see different generations of players share the same stage again. The evening will combine cricket, entertainment and pure emotion.

One of the biggest highlights of the event will be a unique exhibition competition “AND Super Kings” squad against the current CSK squad. Fans can expect high-energy moments from legends like Matthew Hayden, Dwayne Bravo. Suresh RainaMuttiah Muralitharan, Murali Vijay and Subramaniam Badrinath return to Chepauk where they created countless unforgettable memories.

Interestingly, what adds an extra layer of intrigue is the fact that several of these legends are currently associated with rival franchises. Bravo mentors Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Hayden has starred with Gujarat Titans (GT) and Muttiah Muralitharan is part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) setup. Despite these professional commitments, CSK is said to coordinate with franchisees to ensure their participation, emphasizing the emotional appeal of franchising.

While early buzz pointed to a big announcement during the event, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan dismissed such speculations. “It’s just a kick-off to the season and an exercise to get the fans involved. There’s nothing else to read into it,” He also revealed that around 19-20 former players are expected to be part of the celebration.

But not every familiar face will be in attendance. Veteran off-spinner R Ashwin, who started his IPL career with CSK, is likely to miss the event due to prior commitments.

Star power, music and fan experience to define Roar ’26

Apart from cricket, Roar ’26 is shaping up to be a full-fledged entertainment spectacle. Adding a cultural and musical touch to the evening, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman will perform a special live performance at Chepauk, taking the atmosphere to a whole new level.

CSK portrayed the event in a grand manner, highlighting its immersive nature and emotional appeal. “The evening will witness a special live performance by legendary Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman, transforming Chepauk into a pulsating arena of music and lights, filling it with festive and immersive fan experiences, creating memories that last a lifetime.” Read CSK’s official statement.

Tickets for the event went live on March 15 and are available through multiple official platforms including the CSK app, the franchises’ official website and District. The franchise has also issued a clear warning to fans, urging them to avoid unauthorized sellers and unofficial platforms to avoid any inconvenience.

Meanwhile, preparations for the IPL season are already in full swing. New signings like Sanju Samson and Sarfaraz Khan joined the CSK camp in Chennai when the event took place. Samson’s arrival has fueled talk of the team’s future leadership, particularly with MS Dhoni expected to act as a mentor in the franchise’s plans.

CSK will begin their IPL 2026 campaign with an away match against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on March 30 before returning home to face Punjab Kings on April 3. With only a preliminary set of appointments announced so far due to the upcoming elections, anticipation for the season continues to rise.
