Floyd Schofield Sr. fire back at Devin Haney Online

“Kind Austin pops took all his money and gave it to his girlfriend and her kids. Allegedly,” Haney said on X. “I feel bad for that young kid who works hard and his dad who cheats it. I’m rich and my pops are rich, we don’t share bank accounts or Instagrams.”

The comment quickly drew a fiery response from Schofield Sr. elicited, dismissing the accusation and redirecting the conversation to Haney’s career decisions in the ring.

“You knew I had to come meet you on the front line, you little weirdo,” Schofield Sr. said. said in his reply. “You still mad because ‘Kind’ whipped you a **? But since you’re a braveheart, when are you rematching Ryan, or when are you going to fight Shakur?”

Schofield Sr. also revived an old talk that had circulated around Haney during past exchanges with rivals. He again accused Haney of having a “glass chin” and questioned why the former undisputed junior welterweight champion was arguing online instead of locking up his next opponent.

“Quit typing stuff and get in the damn ring,” Schofield Sr. said. said. “Who are you going to fight? Let’s talk about it.”

The exchange added another layer of noise to an already fraught conversation about Haney’s future. A rematch with Ryan Garcia remains one of the biggest possible fights available to him, while a long-rumored clash with Shakur Stevenson continues to float as a matchup that fans have been clamoring for over the past year.

Schofield Jr., known as “Kid Austin,” has also been mentioned at times as a potential opponent for Haney as both fighters move through the lightweight landscape.

Neither of those fights were advanced by the back-and-forth on social media. Instead, the argument devolved into a public feud between Haney and Schofield Sr., with accusations about money, sparring sessions and personal issues replacing any real movement toward a deal.

Fans tend to treat these exchanges as entertainment, but they also tend to return to the same point made in Schofield Sr. ‘s response was raised. Until Haney locks in his next opponent, every online argument quickly returns to the same question about his direction inside the ring.
