During a recent interview with MotosanFormer MotoGP rider and current World Superbike star Danilo Petrucci was asked to detail the most impressive moments he witnessed firsthand while in the premier class.
The Italian spent 10 years as a full-time rider in MotoGP and competed in the sport’s ‘Fantastic Four’ era, a dominant group that included Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez.
Petrucci cites impressive moments from the riders listed above, as well as a moment from Marquez that impressed at the 2018 French Grand Prix.

He said: “There were many. Pedrosa, when he was on form, such a small rider going so fast, looking at amazing technique, he did twenty laps at Sepang, with the pavement so slippery even under his feet, every millimeter of track feeling.”
“Stoner at Phillip Island, the front wheel is up in every corner and he’s sliding all over the place. Valentino’s braking makes it very difficult to get on the brakes.”
“And then there’s Marquez: once the front end went into a 20m slide on the front wheel and he recovered.
I was second at Le Mans in 2018. I had time to say, ‘Ole screwed up, I’m number one,’ and he was straight up while I was saying it!”
Marquez scored victory at the Bugatti circuit that year, fending off Petrucci, enough to take the checkered flag by just over two seconds.
2018 would prove to be the Spaniard’s fifth title-winning campaign after six years in MotoGP, pushing him into the GOAT talks alongside arch-nemesis Rossi.
