It’s here, and it’s glorious.
FootJoy’s latest iteration in the popular Premiere series is here, and one particular model stands out above the rest.
Introducing the Marquis of FootJoy’s Premiere Series.
It joins the ranks of the Packard Premiere Series, but brings its own flavor and twist to the classic FootJoy mold. Classic wingtip style. Smooth leather/nubuck. Premium details.
And holy moly is it beautiful.
There are few, if any, shoes prettier than FootJoy’s new Premiere Series Marquis. But it’s not just a pretty face. FootJoy has updated some of the tools, too, for improved performance.
Performance improvements come mainly in the way of towing. The new Premiere Series models, including the Marquis and Packard, feature what FootJoy is calling ARCTrax outsole technology. Nice words for a custom pull model. From what I can tell there are some extra plugs (of the spikey variety) and the actual model looks a bit different for what I can assume is better rolling resistance.
In any case, the fit has also been slightly updated with a retouch of the tongue and collar padding. This, along with the reworked drag, has contributed to a not-so-significant reduction in weight.
Nothing crazy here. There is no reinventing the wheel. Just a few improvements in key areas and a new high-class aesthetic with elevated materials.
In other words, the FootJoy Premiere Series Marquis is classic FootJoy. And so it should be.
The new Packard model hits retail in mid-March, while the new Marquis model doesn’t hit retail until late April.
