Alberto Puig thinks Pedro Acosta’s skills put him in a select group of MotoGP legends.
In a recent interview AS notebook, Honda Chief Alberto Puig Acosta shared his thoughts on where he currently ranks among MotoGP’s most popular riders.
After recalling his previous opinions about being the reincarnation of the young Spaniard Casey Stoner Skills, Puig added, “I think everyone here is brave, and there are no cowards.”
“The people who ride motorcycles here are brave people. The thing is, I always have one thing to say about special riders. There are very few of them.”
Stoner was then asked if he would add Acosta to the ‘special’ group of riders that included Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa.
The Catalan native went on to explain, “It’s what you asked me recently, and I’ve worked with those mentioned.
“With Pedrosa, Stoner, Marc and Jorge, and these riders with me, not because I worked with them, but because they are very, very, very good, each of them has their own style. This is historically the best I have ever experienced.”

Pedro Acosta’s real test in MotoGP will be when he meets Marc Marquez at Ducati in 2027.
