More, from the MotoGP press release:

So it was many times last year, 2026 is off to a great start for #22 in the new team.

The first day of Moto3 at the Chang International Circuit is in the books with plenty of headlines from inside and outside races to Q2. Leading the way for the first time with his new team, David Almansa (Leaky Molly Dynavolt Intact GP) continued his 2025 practice and was the pacesetter on Friday.

Almansa got right down to business and never found himself too far from the top of the time sheet. The first and only rider in the 1’40s, with less than a tenth of a second in his pocket, was 2025 Buriram stage winner Alvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo). #83 starts the second season in P2 but is demoted on the first day. He in turn had more than a tenth of a second to the next rider, Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech 3). It was a positive day for the Argentine, highlighted by new team CEO Gunter Steiner.

Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) secured fourth and was just one place ahead of teammate Marco Morelli. Scott Ogden (CIP Green Power) rounded out all of KTM’s top six, with the Brit less than half a second off Almansa’s top time.

Elsewhere, notable performances included Honda’s top finisher and class rookie Jesus Rios (Rivacold Snipers Team) and fellow star rookie Veda Pratama (Honda Team Asia) both coming home in P7 and P8 respectively. Irish star Casey O’Gorman (SIC58 Squadra Corse) was impressive as he entered Q2 in 13.Th. The biggest name to miss out was three-time Grand Prix winner 2025 David Munoz (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP), who was unable to replicate his teammate’s strong start and dropped to 16Th Place, should pass by Q1.
