How to watch the Genesis Invitational on Friday
Tournament organizers hope all of Round 2 can be played Friday at the Genesis Invitational. But before the PGA Tour stars begin the second round, 30 players must complete their opening rounds.
Rains flooded the Riviera on Thursday, suspending play for hours. At 5:41 PM PT (8:41 PM ET), play was suspended due to darkness. Round 1 will resume Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET, with the second round beginning at 10:40 a.m. ET. 25 minutes later than originally planned.
Among the players to complete the first round is the world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler got off to a disastrous start on Thursday, making three bogeys and a double bogey in five over 10 holes. He’ll try to claw back a few strokes over his final eight holes before starting the second round at 12:33 PM ET.
Rory McIlroy was one of the players to complete his first round on Thursday, and he fared much better than Scheffler. McIlroy shot a five-under 66 to chase down an early lead by one.
