John Daly WITB 2026

We don’t see much of John Daly anymore. But when his bag surfaces, it’s still worth a look. The biggest thing that stands out to me is the hybrids. Husband loves those PING G430’s and so does he amateurs in hybrid testing.

The bag below has 15 clubs and it is very clear to see that he chooses which hybrid setup to leave in the bag when playing. Here’s a look at the clubs in John Daly’s golf bag.

The Sub 70 connection is not new

Daly is not under contract with Sub 70. He has said publicly that he is not paid to play in clubs.

That’s part of what makes this interesting.

He has chosen to put Sub 70 irons and wedges in the bag because he likes them and they work for him. For a player who has had access to almost every major OEM in the game, this decision stands out.

From a MyGolfSpy testing standpoint, his decision isn’t out of left field. In our test cycles, the Sub 70 irons have shown solid durability and competitive dispersion numbers, especially for the price.

Strong loft above, flexibility in the middle

The driver is 7.5 degrees. This is Daly, it always has been.

The most interesting part for me is the hybrid configuration: four Hybrid G430 listed and without long bars. The longest iron he has in his bag is a 6 iron.

This does not mean that all four hybrids are in play every round. But if a course calls for a particular carry window or landing angle, he can adjust the top end without forcing a long iron into the mix. For a guy who was known as a power player, it’s a move toward forgiveness and consistency.

What changed from previous WITBs

I looked at previous configurations from Daly to see what has changed in recent years.

He left the Sub 70 driver and entered the Krank Formula Fire Pro. The 3-wood returned from TaylorMade to Sub 70. The irons went from 658 CB to 669 MB. He added a 50-degree wedge and changed the shot patterns inside the Bettinardi.
