And as with the tournament he played last week, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Genesis is a signature event with a $20 million purse.

Genesis is played on an iconic golf course (Riviera) and has a legendary host in the form of Tiger WoodsWHO spoke to the media on Tuesday. This is exactly the type of tournament McIlroy has said he wants to win as his career moves forward.

And the action begins on Thursday with the opening round in LA

You can watch the first round of the Genesis Invitational on TV via Golf Channel beginning at 4:00 PM ET on Thursday. PGA Tour live on ESPN+ will offer exclusive broadcast coverage beginning Thursday at 10:15 a.m. ET, as well as coverage with featured sets and slots throughout the day.
