FAYETTEVILLE (USA, February 14). In his second appearance of the season, Noah Lyles took his personal best in the 200m to 20.56 as he beat Ivory Coast’s Cheikna Traore (20.63) at the Tyson Invitational (WIT Silver). It was Lyles’ first indoor 200m since 2021. The women’s 300m was led by Stacey Ann Williams of Jamaica in 35.92 PB ahead of Ireland’s Rashidat Adeleke (36.30 NR) and Great Britain’s Nicole Jaregin (36.79) who also beat Alexis Holmes (36.79). PB. Gambia’s Sanu Jalo won the 800m in 1:59.76 NRi ahead of Shafiqua Maloney of St Vincent’s (1:59.82). Anna Willis soared in the 460 pole vault, Marlin Mula set a new Estonian record (460) to finish second. Cuba’s Davisladey Velasco led the triple jump with 14.50, ahead of Agur Dvol (14.28 PB) and Jasmine Moore (14.21). Other notable wins for NCAA indoor champion India Maybury in the 200m (22.96), Russell Robinson’s triple jump (16.95) and Jamaica’s Tyrese Taylor in the 800m (1:46.11 NRi). Arkansas (Prince, Batista, Jallow/GAM 50.19 split, Butler) set an early world lead in the 4x400m in 3:25.82, Florida won the men’s relay in 3:02.15 (McCoy/BAH, Braun, Spikes, Mims) ahead of Tennessee (3:024). Fast 200n heats in the varsity division were completed by Jelani Watkins (20.43 PB), Tevijon Williams (20.56 PB) and Davonte Howell of the Cayman Islands (20.58 PB). Nigeria’s Esther Joseph improved to 22.94 in the 200m, while Tarik O’Hagan was best in the shot put (21.12).
