To that end, we gathered six GOLF content creators of varying abilities and put them through the gauntlet of six full-bag rigs (from driver to bag!) at six major club manufacturers in Phoenix and Carlsbad, California.

Day 2 of our journey through the major golf club manufacturers took us from the Arizona desert to the California coastline to Carlsbad, where we spent most of our time on the trip. And our first stop on the California leg was the TaylorMade Kingdom.
This is also where our sixth tester, longtime GOLF writer Sean Zak, joined the fray for his first taste of life stupid gears (complete with a 15-year-old Adams driving iron and a golf bag with more holes than a golf course itself).
In his fit, fitter Matt Simone quickly targeted the Adams driver iron to replace and fill Sean’s gap between his longer iron and the fairway woods. It wasn’t long before they decided Sean needed an iron to use, TaylorMade PUDIin his 4 iron socket, but with a mild steel shaft, more similar to what he had in his irons. This brought him to a number of 200 meters, which began to set the rest of his bag.

Elsewhere, Wadeh was continuing down the road to find more forgiveness with golfer distance and golfer performance irons, and Maddi was testing different weights and shaft materials to see what made the most sense for him.

But the big story of the day was new Qi4D drivers and freeway forestswhich ended up in the bags of myself, Jake Morrow and Johnny Wunder.
For Jake, who was working with Kingdom setter Duane Anderson, finding a 3-wood was a big surprise because he hadn’t played one in years. But by the end of the match, he had one he could hit over 255 yards off the deck and over 270 off the tee!
We also went inside to do a fitting TaylorMade’s Spider puttersand Johnny and I learned how the Pure Roll insert helps create forward spin in the shot. I was also shocked when I picked up a Spider ZT and recorded a 0.01Ëš face angle at impact with my first shot. Am I going to be a low torque guy?

On the hardware end, Sean was wrapping up his bag, plugging in a 3-wood with a 5-wood to help optimize his shot location, something he never would have thought of without the help of a fitter.
“It doesn’t seem possible,” Sean said. “I know the rabbit hole goes so deep. Johnny’s like Bugs Bunny, screwing me over.”
The day ended with Sean being presented with a brand new TaylorMade golf bag to use for the rest of the trip, much to the delight of the rest of us who were never to be seen with the old one again.
