Jess Hull is an Olympic silver medalist.
Jess Hull is the world record holder in 2000 meters.
Jess Hull, The Oregon graduate ran well on campus, competing in cross country, indoor and outdoor sports. Jess then competed for the NIKE Union Athletic Club coached by Pete Julian.
A few years ago, Jess decided to move back to Australia, leave the Union Club and was coached by her father. That season Jess continued to show real talent and improvement.
For me, it happened when Jess stayed with Faith Kipyegon longer than anyone in the Paris Diamond League in 2024, before the Paris Olympics. On July 7, 2025, at the Paris DL, Kipyegon broke the world record with a time of 3:49.07. In three-and-a-half laps, the plucky Aussie finished second in the 1500m in 3:55.97, a new Australian record.
Jess Hull won Olympic silver in the 1500m in Paris 2024. In Tokyo 2025, Jess won WC bronze in the 1500m. He holds the Oceania records in the 800m, 1000m, 1500m, mile and 3000m and the mile and 3000m short track.
In January, Jess Hull was in the Aussie Mixed XC relay that took WC gold in a major upset.
During the recent MIllrose Games press conference on January 30th, Jess Hull asked Jeff Benjamin, Senior Writer for Runningnetwork/RunBlogRun, if there was a turning point in his racing career or a race that told him he could be elite.
Jess replied:
