Liverpool have confirmed that centre-back Jarell Quansah has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
After an impressive season last year, Liverpool made it clear they wanted to reward Quansah’s new status as a senior player and made real progress in a recent round of negotiations.
A deal has now been struck, with 21-year-old Quansah putting pen to paper on a new and improved contract.
“I couldn’t be happier at the moment,” he told the club’s media.
“I think the way the new manager has come in, his style of coaching has definitely been a big part of that and I think it’s the best club in the world for me to develop and become a better player
“I think the players around me, who I look to work hard and listen to, I think are the best at the position right now. So, like I said, there’s probably no better place I could be. .”
He continued: “I just want to take each step as it comes, each training session as it comes.
“I just want to keep trying to really improve in training camp and as long as I keep the tunnel vision … I just want to keep progressing, keep trying to learn and keep trying to get better and better (by) trying to learn from all the senior players, and I have a lot in my position, so anything that I can take away from them I try to do day by day.
“Hopefully, obviously also pushing, hopefully we’re creating a pretty good environment that we’re all challenging for places and as we do that, I think we’re all going to be better players and ultimately become a better team.”
Ibrahima Konate is also being lined up for a new contract, with his deal set to expire in 2026, while Virgil van Dijk’s future is of utmost importance to Liverpool as the Dutchman approaches the final six months of his existing tenures.
