Separate training time for the 3rd round
Scottie Scheffler had an uncharacteristically over-par round on Thursday, shooting a two-over 73. But he bounced back in Round 2 on Friday, shooting a six-under 65 to move to four under par, seven shots off the 36-hole lead.
That lead, 11 under, is currently held by Ryo Hisatsune, a 23-year-old player from Japan. And just behind him is another familiar face from Japan: Hideki Matsuyama, a two-time WM Phoenix Open winner and one shot behind Hisatsune at 10 under par.
Matsuyama is looking for his 12th career PGA Tour win this week, while Hisatsune is looking for his first Tour win.
The two compatriots will play in Saturday’s final game along with Pierceson Coody at 1:35 PM ET.
