Brighton and Hove Albion ended Spurs’ five-match winning streak.
Riding an excellent run, including a 3-0 win over Manchester United last weekend, Ange Postecoglou’s Lilywhites came into Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash at the AMEX Stadium as a of the most fit teams in the country.
However, in a memorable performance, Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls completed a remarkable comeback to ensure all three points stay on the south coast.
Brighton completed a brilliant comeback 3-2
Wales’ Brennan Johnson continued his impressive form and fired Spurs into the lead in the 23rd minute, with James Maddison doubling his side’s lead less than 15 minutes later.
However, despite the Londoners making an emphatic start to the 45 minutes, Brighton flew out of the blocks in the second half and wasted no time in coming back.
48 minute strike from Yankuba Minteh gave the home crowd hope with Georginio Rutter equalizes the score up close, just 10 minutes later.
veteran striker Danny Welbeck then fired the home side into an unlikely lead that they managed to hold on to.

He started well and looked lively, but quickly faded away as Brighton took control. disappointing

He started strongly and got on the scoresheet in the first half but, like his teammates, failed to sustain the momentum.
Aside from his 37th-minute goal, the England midfielder was disappointing and will be expected to perform much better in his next outing.

Timo Werner — 4.0
Another disappointing performance from the German. Could not create anything important.
Replaced by Pape Matar Sarr in the 79th minute.
Brennan Johnson – 6.0
His individual form continued after he scored his sixth goal in six games, but the Welshmen’s efforts were not enough.
Dominic Solanke — 3.5
Quiet all afternoon. Couldn’t add to his recent heroics against Manchester United.
