I’m always looking for ways to make practice more productive without having to live within driving distance. One of the biggest things I focus on when working on my swing is what’s happening in the swing, and that’s not always easy to feel. That’s why I wanted to try the Eagle Mat Pro from Fairway Jockey. I was curious as to how much it could really tell me about my swing. Turns out I learned a lot.

Easy to set up, even easier to use
From the jump, this training aid was extremely easy to use. Just put the board down, then swing it. After each swing, simply slide the threads back in the opposite direction to reset the Eagle Mat Pro. While practicing, I really appreciated the immediate feedback from the high-contrast subjects displayed on the two-tone surface. I didn’t even have to hit a ball, but I got instant feedback on what my club was doing through impact.
Instant feedback on your swing
What stood out immediately was how clearly the mat exposed the patterns in my movement – good and bad. With a few swings under my belt, I could tell when I was going high and when I was getting cut and when I hit a square face. I could also tell when my kicks were favoring the heel or the toe. Instead of guessing what went wrong, the board made it clear.
It also made the practice much more engaging than I expected. I began to treat it as a challenge, trying to create the cleanest, most concentrated point possible. After calling it a wedge, I switched to my irons and immediately noticed my bad habits with longer clubs showing up.
Call on the go anytime, anywhere
What I appreciated most was how I could use it anywhere. If I had a few extra minutes between calls, I could use the Eagle Mat Pro on its own indoors, or if I wanted a more complete setup, I could hook it up to a ball and net. Either way, it added structure and purpose to my swing instead of just trying my swing in the air and hoping for the best.
After using it, I can see why this product went viral a few years ago. Eagle Mat Pro doesn’t overcomplicate things – it just tells you what’s happening at impact and lets you work from there. For me, it turned the practice into something more focused, fun and effective.
