Marc Marquez shares his thoughts on MotoGP by introducing an F1-style team radio.


MotoGP’s latest proposal for the sport is bringing team radio to the stage, and world champion Marc Marquez has made his feelings clear about the new initiative.

Team radio has been a staple of racing in Formula 1 for years. Beginning as an experiment in the 1980s, it became more common over the next decade as digital systems emerged.

Since then it has become integral to the way teams organize their weekends. Pit boards became more difficult as drivers began to get the information they wanted from their race engineers through their ears.

They are now being considered as a new system in MotoGP, along with other changes planned following Liberty Media’s takeover of the category from Dorna.
