Returning to Boston in pursuit of another win, Josh Hoy the field will lead the men’s 800m. Hoi catapulted himself into the world’s upper echelon of middle-distance running last year, first with a flawless winter that saw him become the second-fastest man ever in both the indoor 800m and 1000m and finish with a gold medal at the 800m World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China. Outdoors, Hoy continued his meteoric rise to finish the season as the fourth-ranked man in the world at 800m. Now gearing up for 2026, Hoy opened his indoor season last month by running 1:12.84 in the 600m at Boston University, nearly a second off the previous world best.
