The 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, the first event of the 2026 PGA Tour season, begins this week in Cougry Water Etiquette Club in Honolulu. How to watch Sony Open
After a long off-season with numerous exhibitions, PGA Tour returns to action this week with the opening of the 2026 season.
Traditionally, the Sentry event is the first Tour event of the season, but Sentry this year was beatencelled. Instead, the season begins at the Sony Open, which is also played in Hawaii. And a quality field has been assembled.
Sony Open will appear four players ranked in the top 10 THE Official World Golf Ranking. Three of those players – Russell Henley, JJ Spaun AND Ben Griffin – happen to have been members of the 2025 USA Ryder Cup team. They will be joined by fellow Ryder Cup player Collin Morikawa and their coach Keegan Bradley.
Players will battle it out for a sizeable total purse of $9.1 million, with $1.638 million going to the winner.
Golf Channel will broadcast exclusive television coverage of the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, while PGA Tour live on ESPN+ will provide dedicated group broadcast coverage throughout the tournament.
