Fujikura’s Ventus shafts are coming off a banner year in 2025 where Ventus driver shafts won all four major championships, the Players and all but two of the PGA Tour’s Signature events.
However, the company is further enhancing the Ventus line by introducing VeloCore+ to the Ventus TR line, launching the new Ventus TR Blue VeloCore+ wood shaft.
“The original TR Blue was such a reliable profile, so we wanted to keep what golfers already loved and see how far we could take it with VeloCore+,” Fujikura product manager TJ Spidle said in a release.
The Ventus TR profile line was added in 2022taking the original Ventus profiles and adding lightweight Spread Tow fabric to the midsection and handle for added stability. VeloCore+, the re-engineered version of Ventus’ proprietary multi-material bias core construction, was launched in the Ventus 2024 line. Now the two technologies are being combined.
Fujikura didn’t want to reinvent the wheel in terms of the TR Blue’s profile, but they used their Enzo 3D motion capture testing technology to re-engineer the shaft to add more stability, feel and control.
It still features an ultra-stiff top followed by stiff midsections and grip, but the Spread Tow fabric on the handle portion of the shaft was reoriented by 45 degrees. That change was due to the additional torsional stability provided by the VeloCore+, which Spidle said allows aggressive loaders “more confidence to go after it” in transition.

“Once testing began, the improvements were clear. We saw more stability, better contact centering and more than 80% of players saw increased clubhead speed,” said Spiddle. “Players also reported more awareness of the clubface and an overall more consistent feel, which matched perfectly with the performance data.
“We’ve seen strong results with the VeloCore+ on Tour and expect the new Ventus TR Blue to continue. As always, a proper fit is important, but for players who want added stability and a softer feel without losing the balance of the original TR Blue, this is a very compelling option.”
My take: A big step up in smoothness and stability
When I first tried the new TR Blue to compare it to the old one in my players driver from 2025, the results were night and day.
I was having a hard time getting into the test with my driver and it was evident by the fact that I couldn’t even smell the center of the face. We then switched to the new TR Blue and I immediately finished it perfectly and started drilling the center of the club face.
Does this mean this axle will be a magic bullet for everyone? No, but I’m telling you because normally the OG TR Blue is a shaft I have success with and a lot of clubs and on a day I couldn’t hit it, the new TR Blue lifted my floor immensely.

Because I mostly hit the OG Ventus Black, TR Red, and TR Blue profiles, I hadn’t had much experience with the new VeloCore+ profiles yet. But with the new TR Blue, the increased smoothness of axle loading and unloading was noticeable. Compared to the old TR Blue, it felt much more linear as the power goes up and down the shaft to crash.
The new graphics and matte blue color look fantastic. I was surprised Fujikura didn’t use the new brighter Ventus Blue color with VeloCore+, but I’d say this new scheme is better.
Overall, as an addition to the VeloCore+ 2024 line, the new TR Blue is another tool in the mount drawer for Fujikura that will complement all existing profiles. As with previous releases of the Ventus shaft, it looks new TR Black and TR Red profiles will be added later in 2026, and I’m looking forward to doing more testing with all of them.
