We’re just a few days into 2026, and already a long-rumored idea is coming to fruition: next winter will feature a women’s TGL league, thanks to a new partnership between TMRW Sports and the LPGA Tour.
It will be called WTGL — for Women’s Golf League of Tomorrow, according to trademark filings — and is expected to be very similar to the arena golf fans are used to. DATE. The original league launched in early 2025 as the first iteration of mixed-reality pro golf, based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at the SoFi Center, an arena with a massive simulator and a rotating, driving green. All kinds of PGA Tour stars participated in the opening season, and many are back more in season 2. But to date we haven’t seen a crossover between TGL and the women’s game.
Golf fans now have something to look forward to on that front — a 2026-2027 winter launch — though other details are scarce. The league did not announce which names would be participating, but added thoughts from new commissioner Craig Kessler.
“Partnering with TMRW Sports on the WTGL reflects our belief that innovation can help the game reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes,” Kessler said in a press release. “I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences by showcasing the personality and performance of athletes, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game.”
What the league will look like – at least compared to the original TGL – remains to be seen. TGL consists of six teams, although there is a seventh scheduled to join in Season 3. The league airs primarily on ESPN and ESPN2, occasionally on network TV on ABC, and most often on Monday and Tuesday nights.
For those new to the TGL space, below are some videos of what it’s like in the arena during the race and at the start of Season 2.
