Maverick Vinales explained why he asked for Jorge Lorenzo’s help before the upcoming MotoGP season
During a recent appearance on future Grand Prix motorcycle hopeful Miguel Bernal YouTube channelVinales was asked by the young rider why he decided now was a good time to ask for help from one of the best riders of the modern era.
Top Gun replied, “I became a father in 2021. It was a very difficult stage for me because combining sports and parenthood is complicated.
Now that my daughters are growing up, I feel like I can leave them with my husband and focus entirely on myself. Obviously, they are always focused on MotoGP, but in this case, I am focusing on myself.
“I believe George is one of the best technically at the World Championship, and technically I have to make another jump in quality. With his experience, maybe I can reach that extra tenth.”
The Spaniard was then asked what Lorenzo would like to achieve in his corner in 2026, to which he replied: “Winning the race, I believe that should be it.”
“The goal is to fight at the front and win the KTM race.”
Maverick Vinales is one of the greatest riders ever to win the premier class World Cup in MotoGP.
