In a candid moment during his appearance on Eye India, Vaishnavi was asked to name three male and three female cricketers who inspired him the most. Without hesitation, he expressed his deep respect for the legends of the game, “Among male cricketers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are my favourites.” His admiration for contemporary greats was balanced by a nod to the sport’s history, he added: “Sachin sir is also a favorite because he is of course the God of Cricket.”
When it came to the women’s game, the young spinner spoke with visible affection for her senior teammates and mentors. He highlighted the impact of naming India’s core leadership Smriti Mandhana (Smriti didi), Sneh Rana (Rana didi) and Capt Harmanpreet Kaur (Harman didi). Calling them “didi” (big sister), Vaishnavi demonstrated the close bond and culture of mentorship in the existing Indian dressing room.

Vaishnavism’s impact on the global stage for India
Vaishnavi’s journey to the Indian senior team has been nothing short of a fairytale with his extraordinary performance. ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025. During that tournament, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker, claiming 17 wickets at an incredible average of just 4.35. His crowning moment came against Malaysiawhere he made history by taking a hat-trick and finishing with figures of 5/5. This local and minor advantage paved the way for his big debut in the T20I series Sri Lanka In December 2025.
Since donning the blue jersey, Vaishnavi has proven himself to belong at the highest level and has consistently provided breakthroughs with his slow left-arm orthodox spin. In the debut series, he maintained a miserly economy rate, often below 5.00, and delivered a match-winning spell of 2/24 in Thiruvananthapuram. His ability to hit accurately during the medium overs and his composure under pressure made him a vital asset for skipper Harmanpreet.
