Oleksandr Usyk’s team closed the Riyadh division. Three defenses there. Two against Fury. The belts remained; the relationship did not. Manager Egis Klimas tells The National in Dubai“A group other than the United States will promote Usyk’s next fight.” No surprise. When checks are slow, fighters move.
The money moves, not the fighters
American promoters smell opportunity. Top Rank, PBC, maybe Golden Boy – all circle. Klimas says: “It’s not official yet, so I can’t tell you.” Means conversations are real, documents not yet signed. Saudi hands pushed Moses Itauma as the next face. No legs under him yet. Usyk walked when the plans no longer matched the payment. The Saudi table lost interest as the headlines faded. Happens fast.
Klimas does not close the door completely. “He might fight in the Riyadh season, but so far we have no offers at the moment.” Translation: no bag, no attack. Usyk brought value, now they are chasing fresh storylines.
Wilder Talk Heating
Word is Wilder next – April or May 2026, stateside. Klimas confirmed, “It’s very likely (we’ll see Usyk face Wilder). Because right now we’re working on it.” Multi-fight deal takes shape. Wilder’s camp is listening.
“Wilder is one of the best names (that) Oleksandr hasn’t faced yet. He’s still in good shape, and he’s still a fighter, so he’s interesting. And also, it’s the United States.”
The math: Wilder’s dropped 6 of his last 10. Zhang stopped him, Parker embarrassed him, hit a no-name in June. Still dangerous – one clear right changes the script. Usyk’s movement cuts those corners, but twelve rounds with that risk wears a man down. Anyone who thinks Wilder is done hasn’t felt that power anywhere near.
Usyk said he has “at least two more years”. Klimas supports this: “He feels strong. It is not time for him to hang up his gloves.” Maybe not, but the gas tank is getting thinner. The Dubois break at Wembley was sharp. Yet the edge fades once reflex becomes memory.
