According to Patterson, Martin’s heart rate was over 190 beats per minute (bpm) during the 27-lap San Marino Grand Prix.

Patterson said: “At his media briefing on Sunday night, he insisted he was fully fit, pulling out the Garmin app on his phone to show he was hitting 192 bpm during the race.
“The reason he was excited to show us how high it was was because his new partner, Lando Norris, was with him all weekend. During the race, his heart rate drops a lot, because they’re not using their heart rate the same way. They’re using more muscle strength, but less cardio.”
“He and Lando were comparing heart rates, and during a MotoGP race Norris’s heart rate is 50bpm higher than in an F1 race.”
Lando Norris is a big fan of Valentino Rossi and MotoGP.
