Brooks is asking that we rename the series Brooks Run Guide, and Waleed was the first test (new links, the whole kabosh).

  • in high school Walid ran 4:04 1600 meters/mile and 1:49 for 800 meters
  • Walid is studying History and Arabic studies in college
  • Walid was born in Jordan and speaks fluently Arabic
  • To him his parents supported his sports, but school always came first
  • valid has a great sense of humor and: likes to travel
  • He marked the end of the 2025 season by running a trail 50 kilometer racethat’s 33 times his normal race distance.
  • Waleed Suliman’s Outdoor personal bests: 3:33.82 for 1500 meters (2024), 3:51.86 per mile (2024), 1:47 for 800 meters (2021)
  • Waleed Suliman’s Indoor personal bests7:39.39 for 3000 meters (2025), and 3:55.60 per mile (2021)
  • Waleed Suliman’s personal best29:57.0 for 10,000m XC (2018), timed for 50km trail (2025)

  • Larry Eder has been involved in athletics for 52 years. Larry has experienced sports as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now a journalist and blogger. His first article, about Don Bowden, America’s first 4-minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from USA Track and Field to the American version of Spikes magazine. He currently leads content and marketing development for RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun. On RunBlogRun, his daily pilgrimage with the sport, Larry says: “I have to admit, I love traveling to long-distance meets, writing about the sport I love and the athletes I respect, for my readers at runblogrun.com, the most I’ve ever done besides running.” Also does some updates for BBC Sports at major events which he really enjoys.
