Unlike most golfers, I like to play in the cold.
Mainly because it guarantees I can go out on my own and play without seeing another soul.
But the issue I often run into is proper layering. I tend to just wear hoodies, which work for the most part, unless it’s really cold.
Then I have to bring a jacket. And most jackets I own are either too big or too warm. I don’t need a ski jacket to play golf.
My criteria for a golf jacket is simple: it should provide lightweight warmth without restriction. I have a nice KJUS jacket that nails both, but it’s actually too warm for my purposes. I’ll bring it next time I play golf in Antarctica, not Virginia.

Enter Sunice. I had never heard of the brand, so I had definitely never tried anything from them. But the moment I put them on Hamilton Element Shield Thermal Hybrid Hooded JacketI knew I had found my piece of layering.
After spending a bunch of time on it, it checks all my boxes.
- It’s easy.
- It is flexible (sleeves are not restrictive)
- It’s warm FAIRLY. It’s not designed for super low temperatures, but a perfect middle ground for most cold day.
- It is not annoying and noisy. Most golf jackets make that dreaded “swing” sound when you walk. I miss you so much.
The next time I head out in 35 degree weather to sneak in myself, I know which jacket I’m looking for.
Post I finally found a jacket that I feel comfortable wearing on the course appeared first on MyGolfSpy.
