Bradley warns Joshua is “not there mentally” to Paul

Tim Bradley says Anthony Joshua is “mentally not there” at this late stage of his career, and it’s not a given that he’s going to win his fight against Jake Paul.

Tim points to his chin when discussing the decline in former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) heading into his December 19th fight against Paul (12-1, 7 KOs).

Bradley says it’s a “dangerous fight” for 36-year-old Joshua, who was knocked out in his last fight against Daniel Dubois. He never stood a chance in that fight. Tim says the right hand’s power, and the combinations Jake throws, are going to be trouble for AJ. He considers Joshua fragile, ready to crumble when struck on the chin.

“It’s not a foregone conclusion that AJ’s going to pull this s*** off, man,” Tim Bradley says on his side channel about Anthony Joshua’s fight against Jake Paul.“AJ wasn’t there mentally. AJ is an Olympic gold medalist and has fought better opposition. He reigns for a long time. He’s been at the top of the sport for a very long time.

“Yeah, he’s at the disadvantage. It’s a dangerous fight for both of these guys. It’s a 50-50 fight in my eyes AJ (pointing to his chin). Come on, man. I don’t know. I’m not going to predict any of that,” Bradley said.

As Tim says, Joshua has been in the pro ranks for a long time and has soaked up shots from top fighters. His amateur career was not easy either. Fans witnessed his controversial 2012 Olympic gold medal win against Italy’s Roberto Cammarelle, a fight many boxing fans believed Joshua should have lost. The Olympics that year were in England.

“If Andy Ruiz can get in there with his little short tubby-tubby self, and can go in there and lay hands on Anthony Joshua, I think Jake Paul has a chance,” Tim said. “He’s a little quicker on his feet. He throws combinations and has that looping right hand that he likes to set up.”

Jake Paul is faster, more agile and more lethal than the 250+ lb Andy Ruiz was when he knocked out Joshua in 2019. If Jake gets inside on Joshua, the fight could be over right away in the first round.

“Anthony Joshua can be outboxed. By Jake Paul? I don’t know. I’m serious about what I’m saying. It’s going to be interesting. If Jake Paul beats Anthony Joshua, he’s going to get credit in my book,” Bradley said.
