The most recent PGA Tour edition of the Skins Game aired in 2008 and featured KJ Choi, Stephen Ames, Phil Mickelson and Rocco Mediate battling it out in Celebrity Course in Indian Wells, California. Now, 17 years later, a new group of contenders will converge at the Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on Friday, Nov. 28, to revive what was once a Thanksgiving weekend mainstay.
Xander Schauffele, Keegan Bradley, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry (who is subbing for Justin Thomas, who recently underwent back surgery) will play a televised round, with big money flowing Ryder Cup rematch the vibrations. Skins game format
Schauffele, Bradley, Fleetwood and Lowry will play in a single group. They will each have boxes and microphones for the duration of the round. As with past editions of Skins Game, jokes and trash talk are encouraged. Expect the atmosphere to be loose, but let’s not forget, this is still a race with a lot of money – and pride – at stake.
Each player will play his own ball. The lowest score on a hole wins a “skin”, which will have monetary value. If all four players are tied, the skin’s dollar amount goes to the next hole. And so on. The player with the most money at the end of the round wins the Skins game.
Skins game money
There is one notable difference from past years in this year’s Skins game: Instead of starting with $0, players will start with $1 million each. Each hole is worth a fixed dollar amount, with the money carried over if there is a tie, so each player’s total will increase or decrease depending on their performance. This “reverse bag” is designed to create higher stakes moments throughout the match.

The Skins Game will begin streaming at 9 a.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video and lead into Prime Video’s Black Friday football game and an NBA doubleheader — making for a great day full of sports after Turkey.
