FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback teammates Mia Cochran and Patyn Noah ran stride for stride to the finish line of the Harter Habanero 5k on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival as both posted times of 15 minutes, 56.3 seconds.

Cochran took home the individual victory with Noah as runner-up after winning the 2023 race as a freshman in 16:09.4. Both produced the third fastest time over 5000m at Agri Park.

Arkansas’ Taylor Werner won the 2019 Chile Pepper race in 15:45.4, with teammate Cathy Izzo second in 15:50.2.

In 2023, Cochran finished 10th in 17:15.0, while in 2022 he was sixth in 16:36.7.

In the 1-mile split, Noah and Cochran both split 5:12.7, leading the field over Texas’ Eva Jess (5:13.4). In the 3.5k split, Cochran held the edge, splitting 11:30.5 with Noah at 11:30.7.

With Arkansas not competing with All-American Sydney Thorvaldson, Mackenzie Rogers was the Razorback’s third finisher as she finished 19th in 17:05.3. Olivia Pielemeyer ran 17:11.1 to finish 25th, and Ruby Little posted a time of 17:42.4 to round out the team score for Arkansas as she finished 47th and 41st in adjusted points.

Arkansas scored 88 points to finish third in team scoring behind Texas (42) and LSU (75). CSU Pueblo (118) and Rice (127) rounded out the top five teams. Western Colorado (197), Dallas Baptist (247), UC Santa Barbara (303), Iowa Central CC (310) and Tarleton State (354) rounded out the top 10.

Tiana LoStrocco led the rest of the Razorback crew, finishing 49th in 17:46.5, and Chachi Gonzales 52nd in 17:50.0. Zoe Marsh (59th | 17:55.7), Audrey Hill (62nd | 17:58.3), Morgan Kirkland (70th | 18:05.4) also competed in Arkansas. A total of 249 runners finished the race.
