Third time’s a charm for the Rahm family.

While Jon Rahm may be upset this week after losing in a playoff at last weekend’s Open De Españawhich is certainly overshadowed by that and wife Kelley excitement after welcoming a new baby girl, Alaia Cahill, last Tuesday.

The two-time major winner arrived on Wednesday last week at the Open De España, later than planned due to childbirth, but still grabbed the first round lead at the Open De España.

This is the couple’s third child after sons Kepa and Enecko were born in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Kepa was born just days before the 2021 Masters and, like Scottie Scheffler last year, Rahm said he would prioritize being present at the birth of his first child instead of the tour and would leave if necessary. Fortunately, that wasn’t necessary as Kelley gave birth the Saturday before the event.

Rahm alluded to complications with Kelley’s pregnancy during the Open Championship in July, saying it hadn’t been the “easiest pregnancy” and she was bedridden. However, Rahm added the caption “Mom and daughter are both healthy and doing well, can’t wait to come home to them” in his post on Tuesday.

The LIV Golf star is currently in Scotland for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, his second DP World Tour start since earning tournament playing privileges again while appealing his suspension and fines for joining LIV Golf last winter, in a reported $300+ million deal.

Just two weeks ago, Rahm withdrew from the LIV Golf Team Championship with “severe flu symptoms” as his Legion XIII dropped to fourth place after finishing the regular season in second place.

It was an up-and-down season for Rahm, who won twice at the end of the year at the LIV but did not contend at the Masters in his title defense, missed the cut at the PGA Championship and withdrew from the US Open, having previously scored a T7 at the Open Championships and claiming a medal at the Olympics before a A late ninth collapse saw him finish T5.

All of this, of course, takes a backseat to his growing family. Congratulations to Kelley, Jon and the entire Rahm family!
