Norman Jr. warns Haney against injuries in fiery face

Brian Norman Jr. upset Devin Haney during their kickoff promo, letting him know what injuries he could sustain when he connects with one of his big power shots in their co-fights in eight days on DAZN PPV at the Ring IV card on November 22nd in Riyadh.

Haney tries to downplay the power

Haney (32-0, 16 KOs) admitted that undefeated WBO welterweight champion Norman Jr. has punching power, but says he’s never heard of the guys he knocked out.

Devin married 24-year-old Norman Jr. let it be known that his power is not as good as some think it is, as he has eliminated only obscure opposition during his seven-year professional career.

“Names don’t matter” moment

Norman Jr. argues that just because Devin hasn’t heard from his opponents doesn’t mean anything. He can still punch and will hurt him when they meet on November 22nd. If you look at Norman’s shots, you can see that he has the power to hurt anyone Haney has fought in his career.

Most of Haney’s fights in the pro ranks were against small lightweights, in which he had a huge advantage. Those fighters will have serious trouble matching the power that Norman Jr.

Haney’s Nerves Show

If you watch the interaction, you can tell that Devin is nervous about this fight with Norman Jr. He obviously knows what a bad knockout loss would do to his career, as it would be his third consecutive poor showing since 2024.

Plus, it would likely wipe out any chances of a rematch with Ryan Garcia in 2026. That’s not to say the fight wouldn’t happen eventually, but it would require a short rebuild on Haney’s part.

Turki Alalshikh will have to be willing to be patient by allowing Haney to use one of his fights in his three-fight contract on a quick rebuild should he be knocked out by Norman Jr. To reunite with Norman Jr. putting in for a rematch would be a bad idea.

Devin Haney: “I think he can punch. I do think he has power, but he’s shown it against guys we’ve never seen before,” Haney told DAZN Boxing about Brian Norman Jr. “I don’t know these guys he fought.”

Brian Norman Jr: “Just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean anything.”

Haney: “I’ve been boxing for how long? I’ve been at this top level.”

Norman Jr: “Just because you don’t know these people means nothing.”

Haney: “The world does not know these names.”

Norman Jr: “I don’t give a damn what you know or don’t know. I know what I’m wearing in these gloves.

Haney: “I do believe that you have power.”

Injury threats fly

Norman Jr: “If I hit you on the arm, your ankle will break.”

Haney: “That sounds good.”

Norman Jr: “I might tear your meniscus. Ever had your torn meniscus bro?”

Haney: “It’s never going to happen. You’re not going to do it.”

Norman Jr: “You’ll walk out with an ankle brace on.”

Haney: “You’re not going to do it. You’re doing it to the bums.”

Norman Jr: “Sleep this thing after the first round.”

Haney: “Knock it off. He really is a bum. I really didn’t want to say anything, but he really is a bum. I never even heard of this man until two years ago.”

Norman Jr: “Again, the names don’t matter.”

Haney: “He’s nobody.”

Norman Jr: “I’m taking a name after this. ATL stand up.”
