The PGA Tour’s Fall FedEx Cup returns this week to Mexico with World Championship of Technology at El Cardonal in Diamante Cabo San Lucas.
The field in Mexico has some big names, with Ryder Cuppers Ben Griffin and JJ Spaun making it alongside 2023 US Open champion Wyndham Clark.
Despite the headliners, Subpar podcast co-hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz are looking for the PGA Tour’s youth movement this week Fanatics Subpar bets of the week, starting with Johnny Keefer, who just finished No. 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list and will be a PGA Tour rookie next season. Keefer enters the WWT Championship ranked 53rd in the OWGR; a solid week at El Cardonal will propel him into the top 50 and help him on his way to earning a Masters invite as a top-50 player at the end of the year.
Drew Stoltz sees a good week for Keefer coming into Mexico.
“I’m taking a guy who’s an unproven commodity on the PGA Tour because he’s just getting there,” Stoltz said. “He won the points list on the Korn Ferry Tour. He’s pushing the top 50 in the world without having a PGA Tour card, which is crazy. I’ll take him to the top 20 at +220. He’s really good. Everyone on the Korn Ferry Tour points to him and says, ‘That’s the guy.’

Meanwhile, Knost is looking for Michael Brennan, who won the Bank of Utah Championship last time at the invitation of a sponsor, to have another big week.
“I don’t know if he’s a one-hit wonder; I’ve hardly seen the man play,” Knost said. “But he won in his last start. It was on the PGA Tour. He got a sponsor’s exemption and he won. You can get Michael Brennan top 10 at +330. This place is open, like the Black Desert. Michael Brennan breaks it. We’re talking 190 mph ball speeds. The place should be perfect for him.”
