By Elliot Raines: #1 Abdullah Mason believes his fight will “take off” if he successfully defeats #2 Sam Noakes in their fight for the vacant WBO lightweight title in 19 days time on November 22nd at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Mason (19-0, 17 KOs) says he’s looking forward to showing off some of his skills in this fight against Noakes (17-0, 15 KOs), which he’s been working on in the gym. He has been training for 12 rounds because their fight is scheduled for that. The furthest Abdullah has been in his career is six rounds.
Mason vs. Noakes will be on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. be Anthony Yarde on DAZN PPV. Mason-Noakes has an excellent chance to steal the show as the fights above are considered mismatches. Mason (21) gives a lot away in the age division against the 28-year-old Noakes. He gives away a lot of age and experience to the British fighter.
November 22 Main Card
- David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde
- Brian Norman Jr. vs. Devin Haney
- Jesse Rodriguez vs. Fernando Daniel Martine
- Abdullah Mason vs. Sam Noakes
Mason’s Skyrocket Prediction
“It’s going to skyrocket, I believe My job is to stay focused and keep doing what I’ve been doing the way I’ve been doing it,” Abdullah Mason said. Battle hype on what he sees happening if he successfully defeats Sam Noakes to capture the vacant WBO lightweight title on November 22.
Mason will have to knock Mason out for his career to skyrocket in this fight because it’s not going to be nearly good enough for him to win a decision. To become a star, Mason must do something spectacular in this battle.
“It’s going to be my first 12 rounds. So, I’m going to have 12 rounds to go from and capitalize on his side. I think he’s going to be a good opponent for some of my skills to come out a little bit more,” Mason said. “That’s what makes this fight exciting. What Sam Noakes has and what he’s done to other fighters. It’s a test, and I’m prepared to face that test with flying colors.”
Noakes’ knockout threat
It wouldn’t be a huge upset if Noakes knocks Mason out in this fight because he is a big puncher. Mason has already shown vulnerability in the chin department and was dropped twice by Yohan Vasquez in their fight on November 8, 2024.
