Question: Dear Chef, I tend to take the chips off hard lies. What is my problem? -Dan L., Levittown, NY
Tight lies can be intimidating for recreational players when you’re using a club with high loft, so my first solution would be to try playing more of a jump and release.
But if you are determined to use a wedge — or the shot requires a certain distance — try not to overuse your wrist and keep your body rolling all the way through the shot.
Using less wrist and more body spin will flatten the clubface for more strong contact.
