Ivan Ortola topped Moto3 World Championship qualifying at Indonesia’s Mandalka International Street Circuit on Saturday. Riding his MT Helmets – MSI KTM on spec Pirelli tires, the Spaniard lapped the 2.67-mile track in 1:37.332. Not only did that earn Ortola pole position on Sunday, but it was set by Luca Lunetta’s all-time lap record of 1:37.384 in Saturday morning practice.
Dutchman Colin Vegier was second best in a Liqui Moly Inact GP Husqvarna in 1:37.589.
Taiyo Furusato took the third and final spot with a 1:37.701 for Team Asia Honda.
