Just when you thought TaylorMade had exhausted every possible limited edition theme, the company drops anchor with its new TP5 AND TP5x pix Pirate golf balls. Because nothing says “tournament-level performance” like skulls, crossbones, and the eternal search for buried treasure.
This appears to be TaylorMade’s Halloween offering for 2024, though the lack of any “sneaky pirate” aesthetic feels like a missed opportunity to really tap into modern Halloween culture. Instead, we get classic pirate imagery: skulls of various shapes, pirate ships, and a dotted red line leading to what TaylorMade calls a “unique logo.”

I assume it works too (although I suspect someone at TaylorMade spent a little too long standing in line for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland).
The attention to detail is evident. Instead of the traditional player number, each ball features an “X” that “marks the dot” below the TaylorMade logo. It’s the kind of touch that makes you appreciate the thought that goes into these limited editions, even if you’re not quite sure why you need pirate-themed golf gear.
The packaging continues the theme with individual sleeves featuring the Jolly Roger flag, TaylorMade logos written by pirates and matching swords. Because, apparently, letting everyone know you mean business requires proper brand coordination.

Look, I may make obvious jokes about playing pirate balls, but I’m better than that. (No, I’m not. But my editor is.)
(Eds Note: No, I’m not.)
As with all TaylorMade limited edition offerings, these will likely sell out within days. The company has created something of a collectibles market with its Hot Shots series, and the pirate theme seems destined to continue that trend.
Whether you’re looking to add some eye-catching flair to your game or just want golf balls to match your Halloween costume, the TP5 pix Pirates offer tournament-level performance wrapped in theme park-level presentation.

Just don’t blame us when you’re searching the woods for your “treasure” after an unfair trip.
Taylor Made TP5 AND TP5x pix Pirate golf balls are available now in limited quantities.
