TaylorMade brings the Kingdom to the UK


Nearly three decades after The Kingdom first opened in Carlsbad, TaylorMade is finally bringing its legendary fitting experience across the pond.

The past, innit?

In partnership with The Grove, one of Europe’s premier luxury resorts, TaylorMade announced plans for The Kingdom at The Grove, slated to open in the spring of 2026. The facility will replicate many of the offerings found at TaylorMade’s California headquarters, where everyone from Scottie Scheffler to Rory McIl.

Time has meaning. Premium customization experiences seem to be having a moment. Titleist recently opened a dedicated retail and fitting experience at Pinehurst Resort, while Mizuno’s Foundry facility at the Standard Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, has attracted golfers seeking the ultimate Mizuno fitting experience. TaylorMade’s UK expansion suggests these destination fitting centers could be the next evolution in golf retail.

“We are pleased to unveil our first Kingdom location outside of the United States in The Grove, near London,” said David Abeles, President and CEO of TaylorMade. “The Kingdom has been an iconic part of the TaylorMade brand for many years, and we’re excited to bring it to a new market.”

The original Kingdom opened in 1998, so it’s fair to say that TaylorMade has taken its time expanding the concept. But for a company that is serious about custom fitments and has built its reputation around the art and science of optimization, bringing the Kingdom’s experience to its biggest European market seems like a thing of the past.

The Grove location will feature three state-of-the-art mounting bays equipped with Trackman, Foresight, GEARS and Quintic putting technology along with the entire range of TaylorMade products. There is also a bespoke workshop, lounge and dressing room housed in a sustainable timber building with hidden solar panels.

What? No wind farm?

But TaylorMade isn’t just throwing a building on the property and calling it good. The entire driving range at The Grove is being rebuilt by Kyle Phillips Golf Course Design. The new grass area will be spread over 7.4 hectares and will extend to 320 yards, with an area of ​​600 square meters. A redesigned 4,000-square-foot short game area will allow golfers to make their exact setup.

Translated, that works out to nearly 720 square yards for the passing area and only 4,800 square feet for the short game area.

Kingdom at The Grove isn’t just about technology and data—it’s about the full experience.

This tour legacy includes Tiger Woods winning a World Golf Championship at The Grove, plus the venue hosting the last British Masters. It’s the kind of golf pedigree that aligns well with TaylorMade’s roster of elite athletes.

Customizing the destination

What’s interesting about these premium convenience destinations is how they transform what has traditionally been a utilitarian experience into something more aspirational. Fitting clubs used to mean hitting balls over the net at your local pro shop. Now it can mean a multi-day experience at a luxury resort where accommodation is just one part of a golf-focused getaway.

For TaylorMade, Kingdom at The Grove represents more than just international expansion. It is a statement of the company’s commitment to the European market and its belief that golfers will travel for the right experience.

Whether this signals the start of a wider Kingdom expansion or remains a unique partnership will likely depend on how golfers respond.

Bookings are scheduled to open later this year for an opening in spring 2026. After nearly 30 years, the Kingdom experience is finally coming to the UK. Some things are worth waiting for.
