After becoming a united world champion and proving that he was the best welterweight in the world, Jaron “boots” decided to move in weight, and judging by his recent exclamations, Ennis focused on the point of the pound-for-pound list.
The night of October 11 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jaron Ennis walks to the ring for the purpose of making a statement. After the scheduled 12 round, Ennis made a statement that was loud and clear.
In April 2024, Ennis made an important career movement when he reported with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. Two months later, Boots Ennis was in the ring to defend his IBF title against David Avanesyan.
On that particular night, Ennis worked part -time when he stopped David Avanesyan in the fifth round. Boots Ennis would go further if he still had a successful title defense when he defeated Karen Chukhadzhian with unanimous decision.
When Ennis was scheduled to resist the WBA World Welterweight Champion Eimantas Stanionis, many people accepted that the match would be a legal test. Jaron Ennis passed the test with ease, while stopping Eimantas Stanionis in the sixth round and became the WBA/IBF Unified Welterweight World Champion.
After proving that he was the best in the Welterweight division, Ennis moved to 154, where he intended to oppose Uuissa Lima. Based on his aggression and volume punch, Lima thought he had the chance to record the dismay and formally introducing himself to the mainstream.
Unfortunately for Lima, the singing of the national anthem lasted longer than the fight. In the opening round, the Switch-Hitter Boots Ennis was in the Orthodox attitude. With 2:02 in the first round, the problems for Lima began when Ennis switched to Southpaw.
Ennis landed a large right cup, followed by a three-punch combination that Lima sent to the canvas. Lima could get up, and when the game continued, Ennis landed a flurry of bumps that sent Lima back to the canvas.
Again, Ushma Lima was able to get up, and once again he was hit by a flurry of hard shots, which forced the referee to step in and stop the competition. With the victory, Jaron “Boots” Ennis (35-0, 31 COs) made a successful debut at 154, while winning the WBA junior middleweight interim.
During his interview after the fight, Jaron Ennis shared his junior middleweight hit list. Ennis calls out Vergil Ortiz, Jermell Charlo, WBO World Champion Xander Zayas, WBC World Champion Sebastian Fundora, and IBF World Champion Bakhram Murtazaliev.
Jaron Ennis is a generation talent who has all the tools. He has a high ring -ik, athletics, speed, power and excellent pantation. Ennis is currently working on his career, and he is ready to chase greatness.
Both Ennis and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, predict that Ennis will make a run that will drive him to the top of the pound-by-pound list. During the interview after the fight, Eddie Hearn elaborates on his confidence in Boots Ennis.
“I tell you, he’s 28 years old. This is the future of boxing,” Hearn said. “This is the pound-by-pound number one waiting. There is no one at 54, 60, and dare I say 168 what this man can beat. We come to everyone, one man included, but we have to earn the right. ‘
With Ennis to his side Hearn further said: “Vergil Ortiz will be destroyed by Jaron Ennis. I will bet the house on it with Oscar de la Hoya. This is the best battle in box in America. It’s a beautiful battle. He’s a wonderful fighter, but this man is another level.”
