Honma’s USA Conforming Drivers List: A History of Ambition and Reality

When digging into the list of USGA conforming drivers, you will find some interesting stories hidden in simple appearance. One of the most intriguing? The tale told by Honma notes.

For the context, the list is not just a catalog of what is legal to play. It is a window in the ambitions of a company, its market strategy, and sometimes, the gap between what a brand hopes to achieve and what actually happens.

History Honma

It’s been several years since Honma started ambitious plans for her “Find ” – at least achieve reasonable success within – North American market.

The company brought a host of industry-based experts, including former Ceelormade Mark King. According to sources at the time, Honma refused to hear them.

Honma House, Carlsbad’s retail facility of the company, could have served as inspiration for Jay-Z Lyric, “Great Opening, Great Closing”.

Honma products have performed well on the most required tests, but it is right to say its main products – series Two – did not accurately catch the fire. Honma is known by Gearheads but is not exactly a family name.

That is to say, the company continues to withdraw the US market service product, and new notes on the USGA conformity list suggest the latest-sooner-the latest-offered by the Honma will be the Tw777 series.

While there may be more to come, we are confident that the company has two new drivers and a mini driver along the way.

Honma Tw777

The lack of a tracking suffix suggests that the TW777 will be the middle market offer from Honma in 2025. Listed at nine and 10.5 degrees, visible signs include “titanium carbon” in the only, which is likely to refer to a type of Titan -infected carbon material. Weight force reports and whatever.

The design suggests a delicate intake in a decline/inertia generator design that is not radically different from others in the market.

It contains a two-weight system (pre-after-back) and the complex complex, though extremely functional, of hosel adjustment.

Honma Tw777 Max

Unfortunately, nothing in the USGA ranking specifies how many KS of the maximum value you are getting with the Honma Tw777 Max. 10k? 9.5?

In any case, I think we can assume that the Tw777 Max will be the most forgiving driver in the Honma lineup. Like the standard model, it contains titanium carbon in the only one.

It also contains a dual weight system, but this time the weights are round from the heel to the feet. What is worth noting in the implementation of Honma is that the weights are pushed to the external perimeter of the driver and positioned as far as I remember looking at a double weight system.

At first glance, Edge Trailing contains what may seem like a surrounding weighing system, but there is likely a large weight (embedded with the Honma brand) that works to push the center of low gravity and back to achieve much forgiveness with the value of the design that the design offers.

Sorted in nine, 10.5 and 12 degrees, adjustable Honma Hosel is also part of the offer.

Honma Tw777 360TI (Mini)

Last, but certainly not the least important, Honma seems to be entering some of those sweet mini driver actions.

Assuming Honma is not the Bucking Congress or is simply confusing with us, we can reasonably assume that the TW777 360Ti is a 360cc offer with a titanium face. If this proves to be the case, the Honma offer would be the largest driver in the market (get it, Callaway).

Previously with “You don’t know until you know”, which certainly suggests a mini driver significantly more convenient to play out than the roadside. As I have said before, I love opportunities within the Mini Driver category, and while 360cc is likely bigger than I would play, I am sure there are players who would like to get more than small.

The TW777 360Ti offers a three -weight design, with positions on the front, spine and toe. While internal weighing can tell a different story, it certainly suggests the ability to move between low -flight low/low -rotation positions, high flight/high rotation and unilateral slim positions. The latter can be intriguing for better players or for anyone else who may benefit from slow facial rotation.

As with the other TW777 offers, 360Ti offers the adjustable Honma tank.

Price and availability

There is still no word on the price or availability (we will expect official information in time for a January release), but it is worth noting that the listed Honma drivers were made in Japan. Honma usually pairs her clubs with honma shafts, which are also made in Japan.

In general, the prices of golf equipment in the premium brands have a way to flatten, but not producing clubs in China, Honma should be a little more isolated against tariffs. If this is reflected in the price is TBD.

More information as it becomes available.
