Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis (35-0, 31 COs) made a statement on Saturday night and knocked out a bad Uisma Lima (14-2, 10 COs) in the first round in a lightning TKO victory to conquer the WBA-Tussentage Junior Middleweight title in his debut at 154 at the XFinity Mobile Arenity in PhiladelPh towers.

Lima never had a chance
The Southpaw Lima was hit by “boots” twice in the first round before finishing a hail with heavy shots. Referee Shawn Clark stepped in and stopped the slaughter before Ennis could drop the helpless Lima for a third time. The official time of the downtime was at 1:58 of the first round.
Lima landed a large left hand of his own that initially woke “boots”, which led him to go after him with a powerful right hand that dropped him hard on the canvas. It must have knocked down from 154 to 168. It is not the same as Lima that goes down like a bag of potatoes after being clocked by them.
When Lima got up again, he couldn’t defend himself and hit with a storm shots of Ennis, who didn’t have a chance. He wanted to finish him here on the spot.
Crawford should have been next
After the massacre, “Boots” and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, the WBC-Tus-cent 154-pound champion, Vergil Ortiz Jr., exclaimed and said they wanted him next. Surprisingly, they aim low in the food chain and wanted the small game instead of targeting the filet Mignon, Terence Crawford. This is the one that would have made a lot more sense.
Williams’ point of view: Go for the peak predator
The way Ennis looked tonight, he would have beaten 38-year-old Crawford and made it look just as easy. He looks good enough that he can easily work from the Omaha native and bring him to earth. That’s who he should have fought. I would have had the big game if it was me.
