Tiger Woods underwent the Lumbar Disk replacement operation on Friday, the big champion 15 times in X reported Saturday.
“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I was advised with doctors and surgeons to take tests,” the Woods statement said. “The scans stipulated that I had a disk collapsed in L4/L5, disk fragments and a compromised spinal canal. I chose to have replaced my disk yesterday and already know I made a good decision for my health and back.”
No schedule was provided for Woods to make his return to competitive golf.
Tiger Woods did not play at PGA Tour this season after undergoing surgery to repair a broken Achilles tent in March. Last September, Woods underwent a procedure on his lower back that he described as a microdecomplement operation of the lumbar spine for nervous damage.
The 49-year-old had six preliminary back surgeries, starting with a microdiscectomy for a printed nerve in 2014. He had a second microdiscectomy surgery in September 2015 and then had a subsequent procedure to facilitate the discomfort in his 2016 October. He had another microdiscectomy in 202. Numerous operations in his pegs both before and after -can accident.
Woods made only five starts in 2024. His only cut came to the 2024 masters. He lost the cut in the remaining three degrees, but played in the PNC championship with his son, Charlie and in TGL before suffering Achilles in March.
