Haney “concerns about being hit” after Garcia loss

The match promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed today what many fans have already suspected of Devin Haney: he is “Getting concerned to be hit” Since his fight against Ryan Garcia.

Hearn mentions that Devin’s father, Bill Haney, is worried about his son ‘Punch resistance.’ So, he expects Haney (32-0, 16 COs) to be underway to prevent him from shots on November 22, 2025 in his title fight against the WBO Welterweight Champion Brian Norman Jr.

Logic says he will run again

Hearn says he doesn’t think Devin will be from Norman Jr. Run as he did against Jose Ramirez earlier this year. He believes it was just a one -time situation where Haney had to be careful because he hurt several times in his previous battle against Ryan Garcia on April 20, 2024.

“Especially Devin and Bill (Haney) are concerned about being hit, which is a very bad situation if you fight, especially if you are fighting against someone who is a sharp puncher,” the promoter Eddie Hearn told the media.

It is unclear why Devin is no longer against Norman Jr. Would not run as against Ramirez. It doesn’t make sense for Haney to suddenly fight aggressively against a much larger puncher than Ramirez in his collision against Norman Jr.

If he was going to run for the hills against an old, sluggish Ramirez, why would he no longer run against a younger, stronger fighter with one -time force like Norman JR? I don’t think Hearn thought through that idea.

Can Devin stay in the bag?

Logically, you must assume that Devin will walk uninterrupted for the full 12 rounds and set a classic example of a Jerry-Esque style in the area. It would not be in Haney’s best interest to do so, because Turki Alalshikh will be in the audience, and he obviously pays him well. What Turki needed was to have a no running clause built into the contract With Haney. So, if he chooses to set a Jerry-like performance against his No Tom and Jerry mandate, he does not get the full amount of money.

The fans are not allowed to boo, because the event is in Riyadh but people who look at the event on dazn PPV at home in the US will be furious to see the kind of performance.

“He’s Bill’s son, and Bill doesn’t want him to be hit. And they are concerned about his punch resistance. This is the truth. And if you are concerned about your punching resistance, I think it’s a dangerous game. So, Devin will climb his bike against Brian Norman, and he will try to box him out, ”Hearn said of Haney.

The clinch tread

With Norman’s punching power, it won’t help Haney running the ring, hoping not to be beaten. He will come to him regularly enough to land his bombs, which will be more difficult than those with which Ryan repeatedly dropped Haney.

Norman jr. Have power in both hands, not just on his left. However, this would be the hand that Norman should focus on the use, because Devin showed that he could not block Garcia’s left hook. He hit it all night.

Haney’s habit of holding over excessively will in a series of Norman jr. This is how Kingry could beat him. He just waited for Devin to dive forward to hold on, and he would clock him. He didn’t like so much in his last fight against Ramirez, but he didn’t have to.

Ramirez was so slow that he couldn’t cut the ring to catch him against the ropes as Ryan did. If he did, we would probably have seen Haney keep excessive, because it is a strategy he used in the past to neutralize his opponents’ offenses.
