Roger Federer Shared his gratitude for the game – and served the newly renovated courts in Shanghai.
Champion 20-time Grand Slam, a Swiss and Shoe Sports and Shoe Co-owner INappeared in Shanghai this week as part of the brand ”Thanks for playing“The event in Shanghai, celebrating the spirit of the basic tennis and giving back to the community.
Maestro Federal And officials from the Shanghai Xuhui District Bureau revealed the newly renovated courts at the first school of Youth Youth Shanghai Xuhui. In cooperation with local partners, in updating tennis courts to ensure a high -level training environment for new players, aspirations and wider tennis community.
Federer makes his mark by signing the court and hitting the first ceremonial service.
The direction of renewal efforts was Liu Yunzhi, A former professional player, judge and builder of the Tennis Court, who has built and renewed a 4,000 extraordinary professional courts across China over the past 27 years. As a first -hand witness of the tennis boom in China, she knows very well that access to high quality courts not only affects players’ performance and technical development, but also serves as a catalyst for tennis to move from a niche to a mass sport.
Federer also again took in court to exchange balls with new local players and provide them with guidelines, sharing his knowledge and passion for this sport – a key point for all participation.
“Return to Shanghai always feels special,” Federer said at the event. “To see the hard work that goes in facilities like this makes you appreciate everything that is happening after the scenes even more, and there is nothing better than seeing the game you like to share with a new generation.
“Moments like those that show the true magic of tennis – not just in the Grand Slams, but right here, at the community level.”
After the court ceremony, Federer also welcomed fans and store teams during a visit to the IAPM store of Shanghai.
The event marks the second “I thank me for playing” in China and strengthens the brand’s commitment to support the global tennis community and the creation of unique experiences that exalt the game for all. In 2024, the first event in Shanghai invited new players from Wild Elephant – a tennis club dedicated to children’s training in the Yunnan Rural province – to share their dreams and play with Roger Feder.
To honor the spirit of the Signature style of Shanghai and Roger, also began in 2025 Special Tennis Collection Shanghai Two weeks before the event.
