However, team-mate Romeo Lavia, who came on at Stamford Bridge for Enzo Fernandez after 79 minutes, left Palmer a funny message which sarcastically said: “You’re an average player regardless.”

The pair’s relationship is obviously strong behind the scenes and everything at Chelsea feels a lot better now than it did at this stage last season.
