Tim Bradley warns that Ushma Lima could possibly defeat Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis this Saturday night in their junior middleweight collision on Dazn. He says Lima (14-1, 10 COs) is ‘hungry’, and he’s not a ‘slack’ that some people think he’s.
Bradley believes that Ennis (34-0, 30 COs) does not have self-belief, and he was exposed by Karen Chukhadzhian last year when he was embarrassed before his fans at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The Lima threat is genuine
” Boots’ is dangerous. He does not believe he is dangerous. Look at the guy he’s fighting this weekend. He should not be beaten by this guy better. This guy is hungry. This guy is not a messy. If Jaron loses against Lima on Saturday, it’s going to waste his plans for asterisk. Ennis talked about how he was going to defeat Lima and then start capturing world titles at 154. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, says he is the ‘substitute’ for Terence Crawford.
The Crawford comparison
‘Boots’ has the talent to be an improvement to Crawford. What is worrying is how he stays behind to promote it against the competition on the upper level. When Terence 28 was, he also did not fight against great opposition. The two fighters he fought at the same age are these guys:
It is this Saturday, traveler level fighters, and far below Ennis’s opponent, Uisma Lima. They are not at the level of ‘boots’ last two opponents, Eimantas Stanionis and Karen Chukhadzhian.
Many people forget who Crawford fought when he was Ennis’s age. If you wonder why Crawford did not become a star earlier in his career, the poor opposition he often fought is the cause.
Missed Opportunities on 147
Ennis has sabotaged his own career by not choosing to Theofimo Lopez, Vergil Ortiz Jr., Devin Haney and Brian Norman Jr. Bradley says ‘boots’ could also have fought Terence Crawford. It is bad enough that Ennis is not against Vergil jr.
That alone was a big mistake on his part, and he made things worse for himself by agreeing to fight Lima instead of one of the notable contenders in his debut on 154.

Tim subsequently led the subject from the Lima battle to how Ennis struggled in his re -broadcast with Karen Chukhadzhian last year on November 9, 2024.
Karen put “boots” on a “boots”, with clean shots and apparently couldn’t miss with anything he threw. What Ennis saved was Chukhadzhian in the championships.
Bradley points out that Karen is not on the same level as Terence Crawford, against which few fans would argue. The night Crawford would not have stood in the trenches as Chukhadzhian did to exchange with Ennis as he did. It’s not his style.
Crawford is a mover, which is why he has become a large PPV draw. He is still not a pay-per-see attraction except his fights against Canelo Alvarez and Errol Spence.
