According to ESPN, the Mexican star canelo (63-3-3, 39 COs) will recover for two months of surgery and then need an extra “12 to 15 weeks” before he can train again. The operation will take place in San Diego, California.
So, instead of the former undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo who fought in February 2026 in his third fight of his four-game contract with the Riyadh season of Turki Alalshikh, he will have to wait from May to September.

The placement of Canelo’s fight on Netflix is likely to result in a massive viewer. The British fans would like to see Canelo Fight of Eubank Jr., since they are one of their own.
A Rematch with 38-year-old Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) would be the best option for Alvarez, as it would give him the chance to avenge his unanimous 12-round decision loss he suffered from the Nebraska native at the Allegiant Stadium.
Ideally, it would be better for fans to see how Canelo fights someone else, such as Mbilli, Lester Martinez, David Benavidez or Osleys Iglesias. Fans would prefer to see Canelo fight against one of these fighters with all action rather than seeing Crawford again as his opponent.
Nation Vegas’ Take: Crawford Rematch would be a money grab
Finding a re -broadcast with Crawford takes place like a money grab. Moreover, it was not an exciting battle to look at. Crawford ran around the ring, boxing, rarely poignant to the championship. For fans who enjoy chess matches between older fighters, they will be satisfied with the fight. For the majority of people who demanded action, they were disappointed.
Terence’s style has never been very entertaining to look at, which is one of the contributing factors why his former promoters in the top rank could never turn him into a star. From the perspective of Nation Vegas, the only entertainment I have ever seen from Crawford was against Errol Spence.
Unlike the general belief, Crawford was not avoided by other fighters throughout his career. He got all the fights he needed at 135 and 140. He did not have trouble until he moved up to 147, and could not get battles against these fighters:
