Premier League Predictions: Week 6


Lost in the midst of domestic and continental cup action has been the start of the Premier League season.

The schedule at the start of the 2024/25 campaign has been relentless and overwhelming. With just over a month left in the new season before the sixth game week of the Premier League and the amount of football being played means that fans have little rest between games.

So what’s in store for you this weekend? There’s another big Saturday slate rounded out with Monday night action on the South Coast. There’s also a tasty Sunday at Old Trafford.

Here’s how 90 minutes projects the next events to develop.

Saturday, September 28

You don’t want to miss the Saturday lunchtime kick off this weekend, folks. We’re not there yet on the calendar, but fireworks are usually unavoidable when Newcastle United i Manchester City clash at St James’ Park.

The two teams played out a 3-3 draw two seasons ago Kevin De Bruyne stole the show in their comeback appearance earlier this year, inspiring a 3-2 come-from-behind victory. While City are without Rodri, Alexander Isak may miss out for the hosts.

Nottingham Forest are the other surprise unbeaten holders and will be tasked with preserving their excellent start to the season against Fulham no suspended talisman Morgan Gibbs-White. Fulham have also enjoyed a good start to 2024/25 and have not lost in the league since opening night.

Two of the six teams who are yet to win also face each other on Merseyside Crystal Palace trip to Goodison Park. everton secured his first point of the season at Leicester last weekend and will aim for the lofty heights of three points against a Palace side that has underwhelmed so far but will improve.

There was once that Ipswich Town i Aston Villa they were the two strongest teams in the country. The couple returns to the first category together and is the first Premier League duel since 2002 comes to Portman Road.

Ipswich have certainly not looked overwhelmed in their return to the Premier League, but this is a huge test against a Villa side looking to prove that last season was no fluke.

Tottenham Hotspur they have won three games in a row in three different competitions, but they rarely leave Old Trafford with a smile on their face. They played well at the Theater of Dreams last season but could only draw 2-2. Manchester UnitedMeanwhile, they have drawn back-to-back games and the bad feeling towards Erik ten Hag has started to resurface.

The second Premier League clash on a Monday night this season comes to the south coast as Bournemouth welcome Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

Andoni Iraola’s Cherries have once again suffered a slow start to the season, but this is a great opportunity to ignite their campaign against winless Saints. Russell Martin’s side have impressed in their previous three outings in all competitions, however, with the manager’s systematic changes making the newly-promoted side more competitive.
